We announce you with pleasure that the congress and activities of Academia Homerica will take place in Greece – Athens, Chios, Oinousses, on July 2006 (16–23). The participants must arrive in Athens on July 14. On July 15 we’ ll visit Acropolis and the Archaeological Museum in Greece and then in Pireefs and Themistoclean Walls.

The participants must arrive in Athens on July 14. On July 15 we’ ll visit Acropolis and the Archaeological Museum in Greece and then in Pireefs and Themistoclean Walls.

We’ ll travel to Chios by ship on July 15. Participants will stay at The Boarding House of the Aegean University. The participants will attend lectures and lessons at the Homerion Cultural Center in Chios.

  • There will be one session foe students directed by Prof. John Thorley, for homeric studies. Main language English or French and main topic: Homer and world literature.
  • Another session for scholars with the main topic: Homer in the world.
  • A session for all attending Miodern Greek lessons.
  • A session for attending teaching of modern Greek dances.
  • The program contains educational tours and visits and a tour in Asia Minor on July 22 (Priene, Miletus).

 

Official opening of the congress: July 16, 11 a.m. ath the Homerion Cultural Center.

 

Official closing: July 23, 11 a.m.

 

Return in Athens: July 24

 

Participation fee:     500 Euros
